Professional fogging takes a different approach. A fogger turns the treatment into a fine mist that fills the room and reaches the air and the surfaces the odor clings to. The mist neutralizes the odor instead of covering it with fragrance, and because it spreads through the whole room, the treatment isn’t limited to the spots you could reach with a spray.
The Source Has to Go First
Fogging treats the odor that’s already in the room. It can’t stop something that keeps making new odor. Common sources to deal with before a treatment:
- Smoke: ashtrays, plus curtains and bedding that hold the smell.
- Pets: a soaked carpet pad or the area around a litter box.
- Cooking: grease on the range hood and cabinets.
